Job Summary

Position Summary The Engagement Delivery Lead is a Senior Manager-level role responsible for the day-to-day hands-on delivery leadership of individual technology transformation engagements within KPMG T&I's portfolio. While the Program Director holds overall programme accountability, the Engagement Delivery Lead is the primary on-the-ground delivery manager - managing teams, tracking delivery against plan, protecting scope, and maintaining the quality of KPMG's work on active client engagements. This role is the most operationally intensive delivery role in Block C and is central to KPMG T&I's ability to scale delivery volumes without margin erosion.

Job Details

Key roles and responsibilities:

 

(a)Day-to-Day Delivery Management (65%)

  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of assigned technology engagements - maintaining the delivery plan, tracking progress against milestones, and managing team workload.
  • Lead delivery team stand-ups, sprint reviews, and weekly engagement reviews - ensuring tasks are completed on time and deliverable quality meets KPMG standards.
  • Maintain an accurate and current RAID log for each assigned engagement - escalating risks and issues to the Program Director within agreed thresholds.
  • Manage client stakeholder interactions at the project level - facilitating workshops, presenting deliverables, and managing day-to-day client relationships.
  • Monitor engagement financials daily - tracking hours, expenses, and milestones against the approved budget and flagging variances immediately.

(b) Quality and Scope Management (25%)

  • Review and approve all client-facing deliverables before submission, ensuring they meet KPMG quality standards and contractual requirements.
  • Manage scope boundaries rigorously identifying out-of-scope requests early and escalating to the Program Director for formal change control.
  • Coordinate with Architecture Leads (Block B) when technical design decisions arise during delivery, ensuring the solution does not deviate from the approved architecture.
  • Enforce KPMG's delivery methodology and standards on all assigned engagements - using approved templates, governance frameworks, and reporting formats.
  • Identify opportunities for asset and accelerator reuse from Block E to reduce delivery effort and improve consistency.

(c) Team and Capability Development (10%)

  • Coach and develop junior team members (Managers and Consultants) on delivery management, client engagement, and technical skills.
  • Provide feedback to the Portfolio Lead on resourcing gaps, team capability, and engagement-specific training needs.
  • Contribute to KPMG T&I's delivery knowledge base - documenting lessons learned, delivery patterns, and engagement insights for the Block E asset library.

Requirements

Academic/ Professional qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant degree in Technology, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or Agile (SAFe, Scrum Master) certification preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in technology delivery, with at least 4 years managing engagements in a consulting or systems integration context.
  • Demonstrated experience managing technology delivery teams across cloud, platform, cybersecurity, or data and AI domains.
  • Strong financial tracking capability - experience managing engagement-level budgets and forecasting.
  • Experience working on multi-country or cross-border technology engagements in Africa preferred
